Shalene Choon

Shalene Choon is an Emergency Management Project Manager at Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas). She is responsible for collaborating with a wide range of business partners in the fields of distribution, storage, customer service, and gas control to identify the strengths, weaknesses, and lessons learned of emergency incidents that have occurred. Shalene is the lead for the Emergency Management Department’s special projects and stakeholder engagement for the new Gas Operation Control Center in Pico Rivera.

Shalene has been under the Sempra umbrella for over 12 years, she has experience working in the Customer Programs Department at San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). In 2014 she relocated to Los Angeles and reported to the Pipeline Safety Enhancement Program (PSEP) Sr. Director and subsequently as a Project Specialist supporting the PSEP regulatory filings, she then worked as Technical Advisor in the Safety Management System Department.

Shalene has a Master’s in organizational leadership from the University of Arizona, a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from National University, San Diego and received the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
