Sharmila K. Swenson joined Puget Sound Energy in 2014 and is the Manager of Local Government Affairs and Public Policy. Her prior experience includes work in the public and non-profit arenas serving as Relationship Development Officer for Treehouse – a Seattle area education non-profit, National Political Coordinator for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Operations Director for Governor Jay Inslee’s 2012 transition team and as Deputy Chief of Staff for the 1st Congressional District with a focus on Energy, Education, Transportation and Economic Development.
Sharmila is a Seattle native and holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Washington. She also serves on the boards of Treehouse, the Tacoma-Pierce Economic Development Board, Civic Alliance for a Sound Economy and the Eastside Business Alliance. Sharmila currently lives in Des Moines, WA with her husband and son.
