Stephen Guinn

Dr. Guinn is Managing Partner at PSP Metrics in Pittsburgh. PSP provides employment testing services throughout North America and in numerous countries worldwide. PSP has worked in the utility industry for over 50 years. Dr. Guinn’s current responsibilities at PSP involve employee selection, talent development, and succession planning. He has consulted with electric power utilities for over 30 years in the selection of system operators, distribution dispatchers, and hydro-operators.

Dr. Guinn consults with organizations to improve selections and development. He writes frequently on how to select successful people, developing employees, work motivation, millennials, and the impact of technology on jobs. Dr. Guinn is also the author of the title chapter in Testing in Business (Quorum Books, 1991). He has written for a variety of publications, including HR Magazine, Training and Development Journal, Training Magazine, HR Forum, American Management Association.

A licensed psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dr. Guinn taught industrial/ organizational psychology at the University of Pittsburgh School for 15 years. He is a member the American Psychological Association. In his spare time, he enjoys fly-fishing, hunting, golf and trap shooting. He is also on the Advisor Board for Fallingwater and a board member of Western PA Conservancy.
