Thomas Finch

Tom has been a Community Assistance and Technical Services (CATS) Manager/Community Liaison for the Western Region, which is in Lakewood, CO, since August 20, 2009. From January 1, 2002 until August 20, 2009 he served as the State Liaison Representative (SLR) for the Western Region. His role in the PHMSA/OPS focuses on enhancing communications with Stakeholders including the Western Region States Pipeline Safety Programs.

Tom attended the Colorado School of Mines from 1964-1968 majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He has 48 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. From January 1, 1973 until October 12, 1999, he was employed by Cathodic Protection Services Company. He was the manager of the Farmington, NM district office that worked to provide cathodic protection of well casings and pipelines. He is a National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Certified Senior Corrosion Technologist and a NACE Lifetime Member. He has been a member of NACE the past 45 years. He joined RSPA/OPS now PHMSA/OPS on October 12, 1999.

Per the attachment below, Tom has been welcomed into Who’s Who of America’s prestigious roster of Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement inductees. Thomas Finch has 25 years of combined federal service.
