Thomas Hanson

Thomas is a senior manager in BC Hydro’s $2B+/annum Project Delivery portfolio group.
Tom is a recognized performer in commercial contract management and governance; he often represents BC Hydro in complex contracting arrangement and infrastructure works. Today, he is leading a project to transform relationships with indigenous businesses and construction contractors. He received a MBA from Royal Roads University receiving the institution’s top distinction as a graduate – the University Founders’ Award. He holds a B.SC. Organizational Psych., a Graduate Certificate in Strategic HR and a Management Certificate in OH&S. In 2019, Capilano University conferred a Citation in Contract Law on Tom; he also completed study in Aboriginal, Labour and Employment, Tort and Property Law. In the pandemic era, he is performing directed studies on “Improving construction contract comprehension and front-line utility” as he works toward a juris doctorate.
Tom is a 20-year Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). Tom holds CCMAP designation from the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM). He serves on the IACCM Global Advisory Council – a first term as Canada representative and, today, as a Board-nominated member.
