Tim Vanderpyl

Tim Vanderpyl is the Manager of Employee & Labour Relations at FortisAlberta, where he oversees union relations, talent acquisition, disability management and business partner services. He is a former business school professor and current HR Professional who effectively blends theoretical and practical elements in his work as an HR Professional.

Tim has 15 years of experience in various HR leadership roles across Alberta, with experience working in HR leadership positions in the social services, oil/gas, healthcare, municipal government and utilities sectors. He has published 18 articles on leadership, talent and HR related topics in journals around the world. He has presented keynotes and training to organizations around the world. He has taught HR, Marketing and Organizational Behaviour courses at Ambrose University, Trinity Western University and in the School of Psychology and Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. He is also the co-host of the Recruitment Now podcast, a podcast that shares ideas and insights into the world of recruiting.

Tim holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership, a Master of Arts in Leadership and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.
