Tom McDermott

Thomas E. McDermott is Chief Engineer, Integration, Electricity Infrastructure at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, with over 35 years of experience in consulting, software development and research. His technical interests include modeling and simulation, transactive energy, lightning protection and sustainable energy. He is an IEEE Fellow and has contributed to several standards, including IEEE 1547 for distributed energy resources. Tom is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, with a B.S. and M.E. from RPI and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.
