Tyson Swetek

Tyson Swetek graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He joined SDG&E in 2005 as an associate engineer. He spent his early career in distribution holding various positions in different operating districts that involved managing SDG&E’s first responders to power outages and managing the distribution maintenance and compliance program. He led a substation team responsible for asset management, construction, and maintenance. He led SDG&E’s Transmission Engineering department responsible for the design, engineering, and construction of high voltage power lines. In his current role as Wildfire Mitigation Programs Manager, he has responsibility for the filing, implementation and execution of SDG&E’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan. Overall, he has spent 15 years at SDG&E. He has an MBA from San Diego State and is a licensed professional engineer.
