Executive Planning Committee (May 15-16)

The Executive Planning Committee (EPC) is a distinctive group of senior energy leaders who meet annually to bridge the strategic vision of the WEI Board of Directors and Board Committees, with content and planning for individual programs. The EPC’s efforts culminate over two days, where they meet with their respective business sections of Gas Operations, Electric Operations, Customer Connections and Corporate Services, to address common issues across member organizations. Attendees work together on how to best combine efforts and leverage resources into creating educational track content at both the Customer + Corporate Symposium and the Operations Conference.

  • Member: $399 USD

    Registration includes all materials and associated meals at the conference. Guest passes are available for $100 and allow a personal guest (a spouse or partner who does not work in the energy industry) to accompany a registered attendee at the event. Guest registration includes all meals and receptions, and all program materials.

  • General Cancellation Policy
  • Due to contractual obligations, cancellations received 15 business days prior to the program will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 6 to 14 business days prior to the event will receive a refund, less a $100 administrative fee. No shows and last minute cancellations, 5 business days prior to the event or less, will be responsible for the full registration fee. Substitutions from your organization for the same event are always welcome.
  • Participation Policy
  • Western Energy Institute programs and events are open to energy companies (including gas production and electric generation, gas and electric transmission and gas and electric distribution utilities). Select programs and events are open to energy industry product and service suppliers. Programs and events are closed to all media representatives and to the general public.

Breakouts for Executive Hot Topics

During this session each of the four functional areas (Customer, Corporate Services, Electric Ops, Gas Ops) break out in separate rooms to discuss strategic issues facing their organizations. With the new theme in mind, EPC members will exchange their own expertise to gain a deeper understanding of common opportunities and challenges.  Together, the top issues identified by this roundtable will spring board the EPC into the second day.

Building from the previous day, the groups will recap their identified issues and opportunities and turn their attention to building recommended tracks for the two large conferences.  Members will lay out topic suggestions for each track area and clearly articulate the specific target audiences. Finally, we will identify commitments for Program Development Team Members and Mentors to participate in the August Planning meeting.

We now combine the Customer and Corporate Services teams together in one room and the Electric Operations and Gas Operations in another room to look at the big picture for each conference, with the following objectives:

  • Identify any key changes to overall structure of conference
  • General session ideas and recommendations for keynote speakers
  • Identify tracks with overlap
