Travis McDonnell

Travis is the Manager of Forestry Planning for ATCO Electricity’s Transmission and Distribution services, working out of Edmonton, Alberta. He is a Registered Professional Forester in Alberta and British Columbia and has worked in the areas of timber harvest, silviculture, remote sensing, GIS, project management, utility vegetation management and wildfire mitigation planning. As a utility owner and operator, ATCO manages vegetation along its 74,000 km (roughly 46,000 miles) of powerline and at its nearly 300 electrical substations and other electrical facilities, within its Alberta service territories. Travis is actively involved in the planning of vegetation management programs and other projects and programs relating to mitigation of wildfire and public safety risk on and around electrical infrastructure.
