Jason Doering

I am a registered Professional Engineer and hold bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Psychology, both from the University of Manitoba. I am currently the Director of Engineering & Fleet Maintenance at ENMAX Energy Corporation overseeing maintenance engineering and major outage planning and execution for ENMAX’s combined cycle and simple cycle generating stations and district heating station. I joined ENMAX in February 2017.

Prior to joining ENMAX, I was with the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) for 9 years, most recently as the Director of Operations Planning & Engineering overseeing planning and engineering support for the operation of the Alberta electric transmission system, including power system restoration planning. While at the AESO, I also held the positions of Director of Transmission System Planning, Energy Strategy Program Director, and Director of Commercial Services.

Prior to joining the AESO, I spent nine years at Manitoba Hydro in a variety of engineering roles, including Thermal Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Centred Maintenance Engineer, Resource Evaluation Engineer, Export Market Analysis Engineer, and Section Head of Thermal Resource Evaluation.
